I am fan of most of the major sports and keep up with them as I have time. Here are a few musings from the sports world:
- What a great Super Bowl!
I know, I know, a little late, but seriously: what a good game. The last two Super Bowl fourth quarters have provided stuff of legend. NFL Films, commercial-opportunity legend. But legend none the less. Especially the Harrison 100-yard INT return and Holmes “I’m on my tiptoes…no, really” catch.
- When is Derek Fisher going to die?
Okay, that is a bit overstated: when is Derek Fisher going to retire? Or even look like he is aging? I turned on the TV to watch the Lakers/Cavs game, saw Fisher and felt like I was watching a game from 2003 or 2005 or 2007…
- March Madness is coming
Duke is good. North Carolina is really good. The Big East is the best conference in the land. The SEC and Big 12 stink. Yes, we are talking basketball, not football.
Conference play is in full swing and March Madness quickly approaches. Each year, I host an NCAA tournament pick your bracket competition on espn.go.com. This marks year three of this cross-country extravaganza. I’ll soon be presenting plaques to the 2007 champion, Robbie Sagers, and 2008 champion, Chris Balsters (via mail).
Sunday, March 15, I’ll post a link here, and on my Facebook page and Twitter profile
I may even contact some of you the old-fashioned way: email
